11 November 2006 - 15:03International Mapping completes Military History map series for ABC-CLIO

International Mapping completed production on the ABC-CLIO Military History Series. The series is comprises over 500 maps and covers all American military battles from the Revolutionary War to the present day. Initially, the maps are being used for on-screen display in the form of interactive computer lessons. They have also been repurposed as black and white maps for study guides and eventually for textbooks as well.

Cartographers at International Mapping worked closely with editors at ABC-CLIO to research and prepare each of the maps. Detailed sources for historical content ensured that each map contained accurate data and careful design ensured a clear and attractive map presentation.

1 January 2006 - 14:54International Mapping to produce maps for HRW American History textbook.

International Mapping was chosen by Holt Rinehart and Winston to provide cartographic services and research support for production of the American Anthem. This all-new edition, which is HRW’s premier high school text, covers American history from pre-Colonial to present-day. The 170 four-color maps, locators, and graphics that International Mapping produced, will be used in student, teacher, and study guide editions.

14 March 2005 - 14:50International Mapping Cartographers Featured on Baltimore WJZ-13’s Morning Edition

International Mapping cartographers Alex Tait and Jim Miller appeared on Baltimore’s CBS affiliate WJZ-13 this morning to talk about Sports Illustrated’s “Great American Sports Atlas.” The morning show’s hosts Marty Bass and Don Scott asked about how the project came together and highlighted some of the maps. The Morning Edition segment also covered different maps International Mapping has produced over the course of its history as well as the company’s future direction.

4 March 2005 - 14:48International Mapping Takes Two Awards in 32nd ACSM Cartographic Design Competition

International Mapping has taken two first honorable mention awards in the 2004 American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ACSM) 32nd Annual Map Design Competition. Alex Tait and James Miller won for the Sports Illustrated “Great American Sports Atlas” in the thematic category, while Bruce Daniel and Mike Means won in the Recreation/Travel category for their “Oahu Transit Bus Map.”
This is the third ACSM award for Alex, third for James, third for Bruce, and first for Mike. 3 January 2005 - 21:22ABC-CLIO Chooses International Mapping to Produce Historical War Maps

International Mapping has been chosen by textbook publisher ABC-CLIO to produce maps for their new Military History Series. The 650 maps will cover all American military battles from the Revolutionary War to the present day.
Initially, the maps will be used for on-screen display in the form of interactive computer lessons. They will also be repurposed as black and white maps for study guides and eventually for textbooks as well. This project is expected to run through early 2006.
